Evaluation of a Health Informatics BS Degree Program: Three Key Measures

11:00 AM–11:15 AM Jun 20, 2018

Crescent AB, 16th Floor

Description

Abstract: Currently, there is a lack of graduates with the mix of technical and clinical skills to meet the needs of healthcare organizations. To address this problem, the School of Computing at the University of South Alabama created a Health Informatics bachelor’s degree program. This paper evaluates the program's performance after four years to determine if the hypotheses that led to its creation are supported. Enrollment and graduation counts and critical success factors are discussed.
