Abstract: Pre-course and post-course student competency assessments may be effective in Biomedical Informatics education for achieving better course content personalization, curriculum evaluation, student evaluation, and course comparisons between institutions. In this study, two graduate students develop an assessment of students’ skills in an introductory Biomedical Informatics methods class. This method of assessment demonstrates a framework of competency assessment that can be applied to other courses.
