Building Information Literacy in a Baccalaureate Nursing Informatics Course

1:40 PM–2:00 PM Jun 20, 2018 (US - Central)

International Ballroom, 16th Floor

Description

Abstract:
The Nursing Informatics and Technology course focuses on the use of technology and information management to facilitate nursing practice and enhance delivery of safe, quality care. To accomplish this, nurses must be information literate. Our presentation will focus on how we integrated information literacy throughout the semester with scaffolded assignments and activities to assist junior undergraduate nursing students to develop skills to present an overview of an informatics/information technology “hot topic.”
