Description

Abstract: Biomedical informatics programs struggle to provide students with access to real-world datasets and course materials relevant to population health. We enhanced an existing course with a module that challenges students to analyze social determinants of health in the context of a community health problem. Providing students access to social determinant data at a population level enables understanding of community health needs while giving students hands-on experience with informatics tools and methods.
